Protein Smoothie Recipes


 

A lot of folks feel like they don't get enough protein in their diet, and certainly from healthier sources of proteins that are not relying on red meat and other fatty forms which tend not to be the healthiest source of protein. A great way to get around this issue is to add some protein into healthier foods that you can consume on a regular basis, one of the best ways to do this is to use some protein smoothie recipes. 


There are a number of ways you can add protein into your smoothie, but generally the first and by far the most recommended way is to use Greek yogurt which is extremely high in protein, even relative to other forms of yogurt. You can also add protein supplements that are not based on meat such as vegan protein. One of my favorite types of protein to add is either a vegan rice protein, or something equivalent that is based on sprouts and grains. Here's a solid protein smoothie to start with.

  • 1 cup of frozen mixed berries
  • 1 whole banana in frozen chunks
  • 1 cup of organic greek yogurt
  • a single serving or two of your favorite protein supplement
  • 1 cup of skim milk instead of yogurt for extra protein
  • 1 tsp of organic stevia for sweetening
  1. first you'll want to put in your milk into the blender
  2. then you want to add your Greek yogurt next
  3. then add in your frozen banana chunks and mixed berries
  4. then you'll want to add in your sweetener and protein supplements
  5. blend until desired consistency
  6. enjoy!
